The plan was to re-read The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley even though I just read it about a year ago. The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley; 1984. I got a little distracted this week. India's Vishwanathan Anand has done it again, dragging chess – that most mentally-challenging of sports - back into the limelight with yet another world championship win. I'm trying going back to one entry per book, even if it's a short one. The Hero and the Crown won a Newbery Medal in 1985, which is awarded once a year to the best novel in children's literature. Dragon's Crown comes to the PS3 and Vita on August 6, 2013. This may be a children's book, but the writing is incredibly adult. Didn't think I'd ever be saying that. The PS3 version is $49.99, while the Vita version is $39.99.
